Where are the chairs?!

I am the only person in the training department at the casino.  Which means that the training room is my responsibility.  While I am happy to schedule other people to use it if I'm not holding a class, it is ultimately my space.  Important background info for this story.

My training room finally got a computer armoire for the front of the room.  The AV equipment had been set up fairly sloppily on a desk prior to this.  Exciting times - computer armoire arrived!  Facilities assembled the cabinet and IT was coming to move the PC over the weekend.

I got an email from the IT manager on Saturday afternoon around 4pm saying that they had finished moving the computer.  And then she said, "And by the way, did you know all the chairs were missing from the training room?"

No.  No, I did not.

There are not a lot of things that constitute a "training emergency".  This is one of those things.  Where are the chairs?  I start sending emails to the people I suspect could be the culprits - Food & Beverage could have borrowed them for extra seating in an outlet, Marketing could have borrowed them for a promotion, Warehouse has moved them for reasons unbeknownst to me or Employment borrowed them for a hiring event.  I'm kind of freaking out.  I have 24 people showing up for a class on Monday morning.  Where are the chairs??  And why did whomever move them not tell me they were moving them?!?!

I finally get an answer.  Someone thought they could take them and replace them with chairs we had used in our off site hiring center before I was any wiser.  Little did they know I had class on Monday, and not Tuesday this week.  I have been promised that the chairs would be in my classroom on Monday morning by the time I start.  This makes me a little nervous.  And a little cranky.  How are you not going to give me a heads up before you swipe the chairs?  Seriously?  Seriously??

Wish me luck that the chairs make it to the room.  Will keep you posted.

UPDATE:  YES!  I got chairs.  Class started at 10am, and at 8:20am, our facilities team was loading in different chairs.  These are actually much better chairs if you ask me.  Goes to show you, everything may happen for a reason.  Chill out Sarah - wait and see...  Plus, it's an extra great group in New Hire Orientation today.  I'm having a blast.  Pretty good Monday.
